Virtual Benefit Update: Spencer's Going Home!

It is with great joy that I share this final update on the Virtual Benefit for Momma Jorje. When I last updated on Saturday, Spencer was still hospitalized, though he was making good progress. He continued to improve by leaps and bounds over the weekend (thanks in no small part to having Momma and her healing milk nearby, I'm sure!) and yesterday, he was cleared to be released from the hospital!

Jorje and her husband had already extended their hotel stay through last night, before they'd been given an estimate as to when Spencer might be able to join them. They took advantage of their accommodations and spent their first night together as a family in a nice comfortable hotel room, able to focus on bonding as a family rather than dishes in the sink or laundry piles.

Spencer and big sis Sasha get some well-deserved rest!

Today, Spencer and his family will be settling in at home for a proper babymoon. Momma is adjusting to feeding on demand after a strict NICU feeding schedule, and has expressed a wealth of gratitude for the kindness and generosity shown to her family during this challenging time.

All told, we raised a staggering total of $1592.63 for this family in a time of need. I have never been more honored and proud to be a part of the blogging community in general, and the Natural Parents Network team specifically. So many people came together to make this happen, and it is thanks, in part, to all of you that this beautiful little boy is going home with his family today.

To stay updated on Momma Jorje and Spencer, you can follow along on her blog or facebook page. I highly recommend her, as both a resource and a friend! :)

  2. It so wonderful to see a positive side of human nature! We always hear negative. And it amazing that so many freely gave to Jorje and her family!
